Square Roots

At Square Roots, my role was to redesign the brand’s website. Working closely with the farm startup’s marketing, product, and engineering team, I improved the website’s site map by streamlining information and consolidating duplicative pages and content. From there, I provided direction on the identity system rebrand and redesigned the homepage. The new brand application was completed through text and color exploration, competitive research, and recommended e-commerce solutions.
Project:Web

I led the comprehensive redesign of the brand's website. Collaborating closely with the farm startup's multifaceted teams in marketing, product development, and engineering, my primary focus was enhancing the website's user experience. This involved refining the site map to streamline information flow and eliminate redundant pages and content, thus optimizing navigation.

I took the lead in conceptualizing and implementing a revamped identity system for the brand. This encompassed a thorough rebranding process, including the redesign of the homepage to reflect the updated brand aesthetics and values. I conducted extensive research into typography, color palettes, and visual elements, drawing insights from both internal brand guidelines and external competitive analysis.

The culmination of this effort involved an exploration of text and color combinations as well as photo and art direction to ensure consistency and resonance with the brand's ethos. Additionally, I recommended tailored e-commerce solutions to enhance the website's functionality and facilitate seamless transactions for users. Through a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical expertise, I successfully delivered a cohesive and visually compelling digital platform that truly reflects Square Roots' unique identity and mission.

Team:

Great Jones

As senior product designer, my responsibility was to design a mobile-friendly, SEO-rich editorial content hub.

Great Jones is a property management startup based in New York. The startup simplifies the experience of investing in property and renting a home for a wide range of users (investors, tenants, and field teams).

Team:Fiona Greenwood

The Journal, content management system redesign
I led the redesign of a crucial SEO-optimized content platform, increasing its value for marketing, brand communications, and business development and ultimately enhancing customer acquisition.

Drawing inspiration from the essence of Great Jones' brand identity, I crafted a digital editorial space that not only resonated with the brand's ethos but also provided a captivating platform for curated editorial content. Starting with wireframing to establish the skeletal structure of the blog, this initial phase laid the groundwork for the subsequent design process, ensuring alignment with both user expectations and brand guidelines.

I brought these designs to life through prototyping, providing stakeholders with a preview of the final product and enabling iterative feedback and refinement. I prioritized the integration of best-in-class SEO practices, ensuring that the blog was optimized for maximum visibility and discoverability in search engine results. This involved meticulous keyword research, metadata optimization, and content structuring, all aimed at enhancing the blog's organic reach and engagement. Through a combination of empathic design, SEO optimization, mobile-first UX, and scalable design elements, I succeeded in creating a responsive editorial blog that not only reflected the essence of the Great Jones brand but also provided a compelling platform for engaging with custom editorial content.

Client:

Ellevest

At Ellevest, my responsibility was to translate complex financial information into educational and impactful digital experiences. I worked closely with the product, research, and engineering teams at every stage of the design process—from defining problems and requirements to final development.
Transactions page

I collaborated closely with product, research, and engineering teams throughout the entire design process, from defining problems to final development. My focus was on designing Ellevest’s investment transaction page, showcasing various transactions—sells and deposits—across various stages. The aim was to enable users to easily scan upcoming, ongoing, and past transactions, delve into detailed transaction info, and tweak their financial goals as needed.

Early on, I worked hand in hand with cross-functional teams to identify critical design hypotheses, structure design briefs, and prioritize projects. This involved initiating user research, leading competitive design analysis and visual references, and keeping up with the latest market trends.

I worked through sitemaps, user flows, and information architecture, as well as wireframes and prototypes, to illustrate processes to all stakeholders. I managed visual design assets and systems, prioritizing the entire customer journey using data-driven insights. This included refining processes like new-user acquisition, onboarding experiences, and optimizing various pages such as FAQ and membership descriptions.

During the final production phase, I documented designs for hand-off to our engineering and product management teams, ensuring a consistent, top-quality visual experience. I updated UI/UX features within our shared design system and presented our designs to both technical and senior leadership.

I worked closely with the Head of Marketing and Product Design to reimagine the identity of a small business banking startup. My goal was to build a brand that felt human, energetic, and trustworthy—something that small business owners could actually see themselves in.

I led the art direction and visual design, refining typography, color, and photography into a flexible system that could grow with the company. From landing pages to card designs and marketing materials, I focused on creating a consistent and engaging experience that made the product feel both credible and personal.

The new brand connected emotionally, strengthened recognition, and helped the team communicate their mission with more confidence and clarity.
