I joined Simple Contacts as a freelance product designer tasked with refining the visual design of the telemedicine startup's brand. I also worked to create new human-centric experiences for both first-time visitors and repeat customers. I worked closely with Head of Design, Jason Powers, as well as core members of the technology, marketing, and product teams to make vision care easier and more accessible for all.

Through a detailed UX approach, I focused on streamlining the checkout journey to make it quicker and more efficient for customers.
To start, I conducted extensive user research and analysis to identify pain points in the existing checkout flow. Understanding user behaviors and preferences was crucial in redesigning this critical stage of the e-commerce experience. Simplifying the checkout form by reducing unnecessary fields and utilizing smart defaults wherever possible helped in expediting data entry.
Informational content and interactive guides were strategically integrated to educate users about different lens types, usage instructions, and eye exams. By providing comprehensive information, I aimed to empower users to confidently choose the right lenses. Implementing visual aids such as virtual try-on features and augmented reality simulations offered a level of assurance and eliminated uncertainties, resulting in a more confident purchase decision.
Continuous improvement was a core principle throughout the design process. Regular feedback collection and user testing ensured that the onboarding experience evolved in line with user needs and preferences. This iterative approach allowed for refinements that made the onboarding journey engaging and informative for new customers seeking the perfect contact lenses.
